Besonderheiten & Herausforderungen
1. Facade works
The building’s facade is divided into various types of construction depending on the building area:
- Post-and-beam facades: aluminium constructions from the ground floor to the third floor as well as in the area of roof skylights.
- Ceramic claddings: rear-ventilated ceramic facade with vertically structured ceramic panels on the main building volumes (first to third floors).
- Rendered facades: rear-ventilated rendered facade on carrier boards in the recessed plinth storey (ground floor and partly first floor).
- Metal claddings: rear-ventilated sheet-metal panel cladding on the plant room on the fourth floor as well as on plinth zones and shafts.
- Roof skylights: skylight constructions in the atrium and above the first and fourth floors.
- Solar shading & blackout: integrated external venetian blind systems (external solar shading) as well as internal anti-glare and blackout systems.
- Photovoltaic elements: integrated on the south side of the plant room on the fourth floor.
- Noise-barrier wall: a wall of sound-insulating louvres on a steel substructure in the northern area of the services storey (fourth floor).
2. Scaffolding works
Various types of scaffolding are erected to carry out the works:
- Facade scaffolding on the main building and eastern extension building
- Interior scaffolding / mobile scaffold towers (e.g. in the “Communication” room on the ground floor)
- Atrium scaffolding with a full-area top working level
- Loading platforms and a materials hoist on the south side
3. Associated planning and engineering services
Before and during the construction, the contractor must carry out the following services:
- Workshop and installation planning including structural calculations and verification for all constructions.
- Construction-deadline and construction-time scheduling.
- Engineering measurement and surveying of the structural shell.
- Calculated verification (facade U-values and sound-insulation requirements).
- Sampling of all visible surfaces (hand samples for profiles, glass, ceramic panels, etc.).
