1. Installation of a textile roof (solar shading)

• Solar shading system: A wave-form tensioned, non-combustible textile shading structure (silver PTFE-coated glass fabric) is erected above the inner tower core.
• Steelwork & tensioning frames: This involves installing a hot-dip galvanised and powder-coated supporting structure in section steel (S355), together with 15 made-to-measure tensioning frames onto which the fabric has already been fixed at the works.

2. Construction of a new storage room

• Steel structure: Construction of a new, frost-proof ancillary room within the widened tower core, used to store the mobile catering furniture.
• Roof & walls: Installation of a trapezoidal sheet roof connected to the existing drainage, together with insulation cassettes and a discreet facade-integrated flush door (“jib door”).
• Due diligence: As the concrete floor slab contains water-bearing heating coils below the surface, the drilling points for the columns must be located precisely beforehand.

3. Dismantling and adaptation work on the facade

• Dismantling: The existing steel frame structure on the tower core is completely removed and disposed of.
• Facade refurbishment (art concept): 15 existing aluminium facade cassettes are removed without damage, stripped at the works, re-powder-coated and repainted as part of a special art concept.
• Reinstallation: Following the conversion and floor-coating work, the refurbished sheets and new sheets for the storage room are refitted.

4. Logistics and site set-up (working at height)

• Transport routes: As the site is more than 100 metres above ground, logistics are strictly regulated. Material is transported primarily via the goods lift up to the event floor and from there via a special telescopic hoist to the upper storey.
• Lifting equipment: For bulky components (such as the 4.35 m tensioning frames), a cable hoist with a jib system is set up on the platform to raise material from outside.
